The only way Junior Will Groves could describe summer is that it was the “best summer of high school.” Having had to say goodbye to vacation to hit the books, many students who shared their highlights agree.
The two-and-a-half month break provided opportunity for so many exciting – and some unexciting – ways to spend the time for students and faculty.
Freshman Sylvio Martins and Senior Taylor Dubois went across Europe with ”People to People,” an ambassador program for American youth “to show foreigners that Americans are positive people,” Martins said.
But it was not just Martins who went to Europe; students like Marette Penington also went to Europe simply to see the sights.
Yet, like Sophomore Austin Blanchard, the majority of the NDP community stayed in the U.S. Blanchard did go to New York City and modeled American Eagle clothing on Time Square. Mr. George Prelock got married and went to Universal Studios in Orlando for his honeymoon.
Seniors Kevin Loud, Parker Barr and Justin Howell spent their summer in Michigan, hanging out by the lake and kayaking.
Some students simply stayed home, like Patrick Lotzar, who said he watched the entire season of “The Biggest Loser .”
No matter what summer was like, it was a memorable one for many.
